A seguito del lancio riguardo il programma Pay ad opera della Apple, si può quasi con certezza ritenere ultimato il programma delle soluzioni inerenti ai pagamenti tramite smartphone che Windows 10 introdurrà al proprio interno.

Quello proposto dalla casa americana di Cupertino non è il solo servizio che si occupa dei pagamenti da mobile, esiste infatti pure quello che Google propone, Wallet, il quale mette a disposizione tante delle opportunità che sono fornite dalle proprie tecnologie, insieme a quelle utilizzate da Apple, incluso quelle che fanno riferimento all’Host Card, ovvero sia alla simulazione delle proprie carte di credito sullo smartphone.
Ciò che è necessario avere per potere utilizzare questa funzione, per quanto riguarda gli utenti iOS ed Android, sono dei dispositivi equipaggiati con la versione Android 4.4 KitKat ed una SIM sicura che sia stata abilitata alla connettività NFC. Tutto ciò rende l'operazione di pagamento poco pratica e scomoda se non si è già muniti della suddetta scheda Sim, e a tal proposito per ovviare a questo inconveniente, pare che Microsoft, che ad oggi è totalmente assente nella realtà del Mobile Payments, stia approntando un servizio di Host Card che non necessiterebbe di nessuna SIM e funzionerebbe quindi in maniera indipendente dal nostro numero di cellulare.
Il funzionamento sarà quindi garantito dalla sola connettività NFC, la quale garantirà il suo funzionamento con tutti i POS Contact-Less del mondo. Tale funzione è stata oggetto di discussione ed è stata mostrata da alcune slides in WinHEC, dove è stata presentata questa interessante funzionalità che verrà integrata nel nuovo sistema operativo mobile Windows 10, il cui lancio ormai imminente è previsto per questa estate.
