Smartdub, è la nuova applicazione di Microsoft, simile alla già nota ed apprezzata Dubsmash che tanto favore e consensi sta ottendendo nelle piattaforme concorrenti come testimonian gli innumerevoli download che stanno susseguendosi nel giro di poche settimane.

Per quanto riguarda la versione di Dubsmash per la piattaforma Windows Phone (almeno per quello che ci è dato da capire dalle dichiarazioni degli sviluppatori) è ancora in fase beta ed il suo rilascio definitivo sullo Store di Microsoft dovrebbe avere luogo quanto prima ("Our product team is currently looking into creating a Windows Phone app and we hope to roll this out in the near future").
Aspettando dunque che ciò possa avere luogo, sarà possibile scaricare Smartdub, che all'incirca mette a dispozione le stesse identiche specifiche dell’applicazione originale. Dubsmash è riuscita ad avere successo sopratutto tra i giovani utenti di smartphone iOS ed Android, grazie ad un innovativo e divertente modo di comunicare. Attraverso quest' app sarà per l'appunto possibile dare vita a originali e divertenti "video-selfie" che consentiranno di simulare e muovere le labbra in sincrono con una traccia audio di base relativa ad una frase celebre, ad uno spezzone di una canzone o la scena di film.
A produrre clip originali ed unici provvederanno l'effetto playback e l’enfasi che l’utente riuscirà a realizzare, come quelle del video seguente. Smartdub è un'applicazione dall'interfaccia e la funzionalità molto simili a Dubsmash, infatti sarà sufficiente scegliere una delle oltre 400 citazioni disponibili per realizzare il proprio video-selfie, e far partire la registrazione che, come per i normali selfie, avrà luogo con la fotocamera frontale.
Ciò che si otterrà potrà successivamente essere condiviso rapidamente via e-mail o sui social network (Facebook, Twitter, etc...) invece per quanto riguarda la condivisione via WhatsApp si dovrà agire manualmente, spostando il file del video-selfie dalla cartella "Videos" a quella di default di WhatsApp (Pictures\Whatsapp), all'occorrenza facendo uso dell’app Gestione File. L’applicazione SmartDub stranamente potrà essere scaricata soltato dopo avere impostato il proprio Windows Phone con Paese "Francia".
