Qualcomm è il più grande costruttore di chip e il suo più grande cliente è Samsung. Riferiscono più fonti che il costruttore coreano è rimasto insoddisfatto del SoC Snapdragon 810 sembra per presunti problemi di surriscaldamento perciò se Qualcomm offrirà una versione personalizzata del chip fatta apposta per il prossimo Galaxy S6 di Samsung LG gli farà causa.

Il quadro che dipingono è sempre più intricato, l'esordio dello Snapdragon 810 fu smentito da Qualcomm che già a fine 2014 chiariva che lo sviluppo e la produzione del chip erano perfettamente in linea con le previsioni e le aspettative. La settimana scorsa LG aveva smentito problemi di surriscaldamento, avendo installato lo Snapdragon 810 nel G Flex 2. Quest'ultimo fa registrare valori interessanti, alla pari o superiori agli attuali punti di riferimento della categoria. Ora come ora, le caratteristiche del Samsung Galaxy S6 includono il chipset Snapdragon 810 o Exynos 7420, schermo QHD da 5,5 pollici (risoluzione 1440 × 2560 pixel), fotocamera principale da 20 megapixel, e fotocamera frontale da 5 megapixel.
