Samsung ha deciso di chiudere il suo negozio storico nel centro commerciale di Londra. Il perchè Samsung ha tolto un negozio in una posizione chiave quale era il centro commerciale Westfield Stratford, uno dei dieci negozi più importanti nel Regno Unito, si può intuire da una serie di chiusure di attività di Samsung.

I negozi fisici non sono l'unica cosa che Samsung sta chiudendo. Infatti, in queste ultime settimane chi prova ad accedere a Samsung Hub troverà l'avviso che dal 1 gennaio 2015 molti servizi non saranno più accessibili. Il servizio video dal 31-12-2014 non sarà più a disposizione. Mentre ha già chiuso servizi come Music, Books e Learning.
Chiuderà il servizio entro il 31 dicembre anche Samsung WatchOn che tramite l'app apposita permetteva di trasformare il dispositivo in un telecomando per tv e altri dispositivi. Infine, chiuderà anche ChatOn, a partire dal 1 febbraio 2015.
Nel Q3 2014 Samsung ha registrato un calo del 60% dell'utile operatvo in tutti i suoi comparti, registrando il calo più basso e sempre in discesa dal Q2 del 2011. La società ha inoltre registrato un calo del 20 per cento delle entrate rispetto al trimestre di settembre.
Samsung fa sapere che farà del suo meglio per trovare ai dipendenti nuovi posti di lavoro e che i negozi rimanenti resteranno aperti.
