Sembrerebbe che i vertici della Samsung abbiano avuto un'incontro con quelli di BlackBerry proponendo un'offerta riguardo una possibile acquisizione, aggirandosi attorno ai 7,5 miliardi di dollari, cosi fanno sapere quelli di Reuters. Pronta la smentita da parte di BlackBerry, che ha successivamente rilasciato una dichiarazione ufficiale, che nega una possibile trattativa con il colosso coreano Samsung!
Samsung alla conquista di BlackBerry! Potrebbe essere questo il prossimo obbiettivo di espansione del già enorme e vasto impero di Samsung Electronics? Pare di si, in quanto sembrerebbe che nonostante e smentite da parte di BlackBerry, i vertici aziendali Samsung hanno fatto una loro offerta relativa all'acquisizione di BlackBerry proprio qualche settimana fa: per la precisione, l'offerta proposta dal colosso coreano pare che sia arrivata a raggiungere il valore di 7,5 miliardi di dollari, almeno cosi riporta Reuters, che ha fatto riferimento ad una fonte anonima.
Samsung Electronics avrebbe addirittura lanciato la proposta di effettuare il pagamento tra i 13,35$ a 15,49$ per azione di Blackberry, il che vorrebbe dire l'equivalente del valore maggiore dal 37,4% al 59,5% in confronto al prezzo di chiusura avuto lo scorso martedì. Le azioni di BlackBerry hanno per l'appunto chiuso a 12,59$ mercoledì. A seguito l'informativa che Reuters ha pubblicato, BlackBerry ha di contro reso noto una nota ufficiale, che nega di essere impegnata in trattative con Samsung su una possibile acquisizione. Un portavoce di Samsung ha rifiutato di commentare.
Qual'ora dovesse esserci l'acquisizione, si assisterebbe ad un inglobamento tra Samsung, il più grande produttore di smartphone che esiste al mondo, con BlackBerry, una società che recentemente si è vista passare perdendo molte posizioni nel mercato della telefonia mobile, ma che in ogni caso conserva importanti clienti aziendali e governativi. Samsung pare essere intenzionata ad avere accesso al vasto portafoglio di brevetti in possesso di BlackBerry, che sono propensi alla tecnologia mobile, secondo Reuters. dal momento che la stessa BlackBerry ha perduto il titolo che la vedeva come uno dei migliori produttori di smartphone vedendosi relegata al ruolo di produttore di nicchia, non escludendo in ogni caso la possibilità di mettere in vendita al migliore offerente il suo business mobile.
In precedenza intorno l'anno 2012, Samsung aveva fatto sapere che era parecchio attratta da BlackBerry, ma da allora non si è più sentito nulla. Infatti Robin Bienfait, che divenne chief enterprise innovation officer per Samsung Electronics un anno fa, ha passato 6 anni presso BlackBerry, proprio con lo stesso identico ruolo di chief information officer della società prima di lasciare l'azienda alla fine del 2012.
E che dire di Timothy Wagner, vice presidente senior dell'attività di vendita di Samsung USA ha lavorato in BlackBerry per quasi 5 anni prima di approdare a Samsung nel dicembre 2010. Entrambi sono stati incaricati di far crescere la base degli utenti aziendali.
