Chiude il Nokia Store: finisce per noi utenti italiani la possibilità di potere usufruire dei contenuti dello Store di Nokia.

Il Nokia Store dunque chiude definitivamente i battenti, almeno per quel che riguarda l'utenza italiana, e inizia il redirect diretto al nuovo Opera Mobile Store, tramite il browser web, proprio come era stato preventivato qualche giorno addietro.

Giunge al tramonto dunque un'altra icona della gloriosa storia di Nokia, e della telefonia mobile in senso lato del termine, chiuso lo Store che ha rappresentato il luogo di incontro di sviluppatori di tutto il mondo, ed inevitabilmente vine fuori un pizzico di tristezza per quello che poteva essere fatto e viceversa.

Ma bisogna in ogni caso guardare avanti con la consapevolezza che questo ormai era un passo che per come si stavano mettendo le cose, andava in ogni caso fatto, anche perchè alle porte bussavano gli accordi stipulati tra Nokia e Microsoft e il relativo disimpegno nei confronti della piattaforma Symbian avviato già nel febbraio 2012, anno in cui venne lanciato sul mercato il Nokia 808 Pureview, l’ultimo, storico, smartphone equipaggiato con tale sistema operativo.

Opera Mobile Store a partire dal giorno 5 marzo subentrerà al posto del Nokia Store, consentendo i fatto a chi ancora è in possesso di uno smartphone Symbian ed Asha, S40 e Nokia X, di potere scaricare e installare app, giochi e altri contenuti, sebbene ci siano anche altre valide alternative da cui attingere, tra cui AppList.

The Nokia Store has closed its doors, at least for us italian users. Now, in fact, when you tap the icon to start it it is immediately escorted to the Opera Mobile Store through the web browser, exactly as expected from the communications of Microsoft a few weeks ago.

Another part of the history of Nokia, and mobile communications in general, is therefore cleared, with a little bit of nostalgia and regret but also with the awareness that this was a process that was inevitable after the agreements between Nokia and Microsoft and the abandonment of the Symbian in the now distant February 2012 when it was launched on the market, the Nokia 808 purview, the last, the mythical, smartphone equipped with this operating system.

Opera Mobile Store from today therefore takes the place of the Nokia Store, thus allowing those who still is in the possession of a Symbian device (as well as Asha, S40 and Nokia X) to download and install app, games and other content, though there are also other alternatives from which to draw, including AppList.
