In effetti gli smartphone della serie Xperia realizzati da Sony, si sono fatti apprezzare per via della loro linea e design ben distinta, elegante, che gli hanno consentito di essere apprezzati in ogni parte del mondo anche grazie a questa qualità.

A tal proposito pare che la Sony vorrebbe investire in maniera importante su questa particolare caratteristica, e per far ciò, ha deciso di ingaggiare tre noti e blasonati stilisti di fama internazionale al fine di produrre delle versioni limitate ed esclusive degli ultimi smartphone della gamma Xperia serie Z: Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact e Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
A tale scopo sono state prese in considerazione tre delle più note metropoli al mondo come fonte d'ispirazione come: Varsavia, Tokyo, e Berlino, i tre artisti hanno realizzato soltanto 33 modelli di smartphone per ogni tipo di variante dei diversi smartphone. Vesa Tapani Sammalisto ha realizzato l’edizione degli smartphone Xperia ispirata a Berlino, Shinpei Hasegawa quella riguardo la metropoli giapponese di Tokio e Jan Feliks Kallwej ha provveduto a realizzare la versione speciale ispirata alla capitale polacca Varsavia di Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact e Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
Per adesso gli smartphone sono stati introdotti in commercio soltanto in Germania e peraltro soltanto in minime quantità, 33 esemplari per ogni smartphone come suddetto prima..
