Una delle cose migliorative che sono state introdotte con il firmware update Android Lollipop e senz'altro la gestione dei volumi, grazie all'introduzione della "priorità" e la modalità "non disturbare".

Però avendo migliorato la gestione dei volumi di fatto non si è pensato a come potere gestire in maniera rapida l'attivazione della
modalità silenziosa la quale potrà essere inserita soltanto tramite l'uso di alcune
impostazioni rese disponibili dalla nuova funzionalità chiamata
Interruzioni.
Attraverso una specifica
configurazione si arriverebbe di fatto ad una sorta di compromesso, ovvero sia l'attivazione di una modalità similare al
silenzioso, ma che di fatto rappresenterebbe essere un sistema decisamente meno intuitivo del solito tradizionale "
silenzioso", e per tal motivo tanti
OEM hanno deciso di adottare altre soluzioni: ad esempio quelli di
HTC hanno deciso di reintrodurre l’
opzione mute, invece in
LG ha scelto la soluzione
stock di
Android.
per quanto concerne casa Samsung, in particolare con il
Galaxy Note 4 equipaggiato con
Android Lollipop, come per
Android stock, non esiste l’opzione per potere impostare la
modalità silenziosa.
Lo
slider relativo al
volume e i
Quick Setting forniscono solo la possibilità di attivare la
modalità vibrazione. Per potere attivare le
notifiche a priorità sarà necessario aprire una serie astrusa ed interminabile di menu e sottomenu:
Impostazioni---> Dispositivo---> Suoni e Notifiche---> Interruzioni.

Oltretutto la
gestione dei volumi cambia da Paese a Paese: ad esempio
Galaxy S5 Verizon ha il sistema di interruzioni integrato nello
slider del volume.
